We have been using material burden under 5.0 since February. Since we
had burdened material prior to moving to Vantage a couple of years
ago, we were anxious to implement this after we finally upgraded from
3.0 last year but it is not working out as well as we had hoped.
In a nut shell, if you add a material burden % to a partmaster item,
the burden will be added to the cost at the time of receipt,
crediting the designated Material Burden Applied account.
Unfortunately for us, a large percentage of our purchase are custom
material bought directly to jobs, without using the partmaster. In
this case, no burden is applied to the material.
