Bruce,
Thanks for the offer. Is this the one you get from Epicor? I may take
you up on that if I can't get this from Epicor. Can you tell me if this
allows the client to enter query parameters?

Have you considered compiling and distributing the reports to those people
that want a report but do not have CR installed? CR has a distribution
utility (available from Epicor I believe) that installs into CR that works
very well (and it's free).

We're on 6.1 and CR8.5, and I have compiled and distributed reports to
numerous people where the access the report thru an executable file that
runs the report where they can choose there own parameters as long as they
are set up in the report as parameters.

Works great for us - brings up a screen to allow entry selections - all
the different output functionality ...Excel, pdf etc - ability to
control what group has access to what report by maintaining .txt files
and short cuts - ability to put a single report as short cut on a user's
desktop - has a batch feature (maintenance program and execution
program) to allow report to automatically be run nightly, at month end
or when ever to different out formats - with ability to enter in the
selection - (including first day of last month, last day of last
month...etc)

We are on 6.1 and using crystal reports 9.

There is a special add-on you can get for free that allows you to
distribute your reports from within Crystal 8.5. There is a client-side
setup. You maybe able to still get it from Business Objects. It is
called the distribution expert. I have it and could give it to you.
After you get used to it, it works really well.
