6.1 RB Report assistance required - Open Sales Orders without o

Thanks a lot for your assistance both Calvin and John.

I also had to make my aggregate total of the Open lines calculated
Pre-Pass to be able to use it as a filter in the report.

Your generosity is much appreciated. I was nearly there, but was going
round in circles without your inputs!!

Kind regards

Stuart

Hi there. Can anyone help me with a Report Builder report I am trying
to write in 6.10. I am trying to identify Sales Orders in our system
which are open when they should be closed. The logic would be that any
order which is open, but has no open order detail lines, should be
identified as able to be closed.

My problem is that I cannot filter the report properly, since a Sales
order has a combination of both open and closed lines. The best I can
come up with was trying to identify when an order has only one type of
line, being closed, but I can't find any flag in the system which
identifies this. In desperation I started trying accumulating running
totals of Open line types on each open Sales Order, and nothing is
working. It is driving me nuts!

Can anyone offer any assistance?

Thank you

Stuart

One way would be to bring in all open sales orders and order lines.
Then add a conditional calculated field (you can call it LineCalc)
that is essentially "If OrderLine.Closed = false Then 1 Else 0.
(Actually in the database, the values of that field are stored as 1 or
0, but the field type is logical, so you might also be able to do a
field conversion instead)

Next, add a summary field (OrderCalc) that totals the LineCalc values
for each order.

Lastly, create a report filter for all Orders where OrderCalc = 0

That should do it for you.
