[6.1] Sales Order Promise Date - Ship on time

Maintain the NEED-BY date as your promise date and then base any custom
reporting for on-time performance on that. The Need-By and Ship by are
maintained all the way down through the sales order. The important one
would be on the SO release. If you use the Need-by as the promise date
it will only change if you change the need by at the upper level (line
or order).

Subject: [Vantage] [6.1] Sales Order Promise Date - Ship on time

We would like to track on-time shipments based on the original promise
date and not the ship by date. There is a similar function in Purchase
Orders, but I cannot find anywhere to enter a promise date in a Sales
Order. I am willing and able to make this a VB field, but I wanted to
see what others are doing to accomplish this goal.

There are many reasons that we change the ship by date, but the promise
date should only change based on a customer request.

Thanks,

We use a VBForm field.
