I don't know what happened to the beginning of my reply...
We setup the Resource Input/Output Whse to be where in the warehouse
the machine vertually is located. Then the Input & Output Bins are
shortnames for the resources. IE: Resource Name = MetalStamp 123
The Input bin would be something like MS123IN and the Output Bin
would be something like MS123OUT.
As far as setting up the bin structure for storing WIP before it
moves to the next location, we setup the generic logic of
Aisle/Row/Rack. When the WIP Product moves off the line and is not
moving to the next op's resources IN BIN, then the Inventory Control
Specialist changes the TO location when they process the item in the
material queue.
One caution to the wind is make sure that when they are ready to
continue to the press, they move the material from the correct
warehouse and bin. Even on 8.03 it defaults the wrong Whse/Bin
information...it pulls from where it thinks it should be...not where
it really was moved to.
Thanks
