[61.]Crystal Reports on Db other than live

In crystal create a new ODBC connection. If you set up your DSN
correctly crystal will see it and just follow the prompts from there.

Do you mean new "DSN" in ODBC Admin? If so, I can do that, but how do
you
change connections in a report?

You need to create a new ODBC connection on your computer (with the
crystal installation) and then subsequently add it to your 'favorites'
in crystal (for convenience) after creating the new connection. Email
me offline if you need help creating a new DNS on your PC.

Is it possible to run a crystal report on a database other than the
live? I
keep monthly backups that can be restored to a "play" db to look at old
data, and would like to run some CR reports on the old Db.

any ideas?

thanks,

Norm,

Yes, it is possible and should also be practice for development...

We use a test database all the time for development and run the report against test, then later against live.
