8.03.403c Global alert attachments

I have gone thru this before. There is a couple Global Alert setup and
debugging documents on EpicWeb.

Go back thru these documents step by step. I do not remember which
step was broken by one of the version upgrades.

One interesting note is that Vantage is holding all of these global
alerts until you get it fixed.

In our case we had over 50 thousand Global Alert emails sent in about 6
hours.

Hope this helps

Dale

I have also seen a very similar problem in 8.03.305K, but I never got
round to finding a solution. I too would be very interested in the
answer...

To anyone who is on 8.03.403c and using global alerts: we are trying to
set up an alert to send an email when an order is put on credit hold
override. The alert is working, but we can't get the system to include
a link to order tracker or anything that would have the customer's
information so the alert is pretty much meaningless. Does anyone have
any tips or info about this?

I have the same problem in 8.03.404B.
Also interested in finding a solution.

I hate to jump on the me too bandwagon, but I was never able to get
the alerts working myself. I'm on 8.03.404B.

In fact, BPM's I had working a few versions ago stopped sending
emails as well even though I had done nothing to the BPM itself. The
alert functions should really be simple to use and yet they're overly
complicated and impossible to debug when they're not working.

I just received this from Epicor support this morning.
Regarding my service call submitted on June 9.

Dave,
I have found out that this problem is addressed in the 406 SP (alert
link not showing up).
As far as I've been told so far, this SP is targeted for 8/18/2008 as
of today.

This might be a workaround until they get the 'Include Link' working
Create a new BAM (Table = Customer & related fields in the customer
table that are important). Then click on new RULE selecting when
Customer.CreditHold = Yes. Be sure to check to Create Log, Send
Alert AND Append Log Text.

When the event is triggered, you should get an email with the related
fields you included to track in the BAM. Basically it sends the
Change Log in an email...so you at least get a little more
information than 'Customer Credit Status has changed' I just tested
on 403C and 404 and it works great
Here is what it looks like:

Credit Hold: no -> yes
Credit Hold Date: -> 06/30/08
Credit Hold Source: -> Manual
Cust ID: -> ABC
Name: -> ABC Company

Thanks

Maybe two more cents on this. We are on 404B and the global alert seems
to be working. We get an email and it lists the customer's name and if
the customer has been put on credit hold or taken off credit hold. The
global alert (#1090) is setup to create memo and send alert. We also
have a BAM setup to log only any changes to credit hold status along
with a few other fields in the customer table.

As far as the attached link (Alert.Mfgsys), I've never been able to any
of these to work since upgrading from 6.1 to 8.x. Tech support keeps
telling me this is a problem at their end and will be addressed in a
future patch. Does anyone have these links working?
