- How can ABC codes be calculated specifically for a particular warehouse?
- Is it possible to exclude inactive parts from the calculation of ABC codes? (I believe we have determined that this is possible.)
- How should days off or holidays be factored into the cycle count period definition?
- Can the cycle count days be adjusted? (For example, if a snow day occurs and counting is not possible.)
- What impact does changing the cycle count schedule mid-period have on the overall schedule?
Does cycle count movement have an effect on part usage?
I’m not sure you can limit to a specific warehouse. You can definitely limit by Site.
Inactive parts should be excluded by default, I believe.
These will be excluded from the period by default if set up in the Production Calendar.
This can be done easily if no cycles in the Period have been started. You can undo your part selection, remove a day, then re-do part selection. Unless someone has a better way, the method I’ve used when something has to change is to either just double-count the next day (easier) or to cancel all open cycles, create a new period for only the remaining days, and initiate a new cycle count schedule for those dates, with a new part selection.
Thank you, Kevin, for your help.
Does cycle count movement have an effect on part usage?
I would say probably yes, but I would also say that if your cycle count corrections are having a material affect on your part usage, it isn’t the cycle counting that needs work.
