Add an material in BOM that won't ever show as a shortage

Hi

We have instruction sheets that we list as a material in our Bill Of Materials. These items are printed in-house when required, so we don’t ever want these items to show as a shortage.

Other than entering a high amount of stock and keep topping this up every so often, is there a better approach?

You need to mark these as non-qty bearing in the part screen, this means you can have zero stock and issue them with no issues

From memory, when we tried this previously, they kept appearing on MRP telling us to order more. Is this something that we can stop.

Yes, just untick, the Generate PO Suggestions checkbox on the site detail tab, and the Process MRP checkbox on the sites-planning tab
