Looking for someone to answer a question (that once answered could turn into more questions) for me.
I want to add a UD table to the Engineering Workbench and hang it off of ECOMtl. When I add the UD table to a new data view, what Dataset ID do I use? Is it the existing Dataset (in this instance EngWorkBench), a Dataset that I create, or something else?
It’s probably me, but I’m lost.

I’m in application studio and I am going to use a UD table to capture approved alternate parts so that when the part on the BOM is not in stock, purchasing can see what the customer has said can be used in its place. There could be multiple alternate parts which is why I am not just adding a UD field to the ECOMtl table.
Let’s just keep this conversation about the tables and not about adding rows. (Correct me if I’m wrong) I thought that all I would have to do is add the UD table as a data view in Engineering Workbench and build the parent child relationships. Once that is done, I could display the data. What I am unsure of is does the UD table get added to the existing Dataset or go in a new Dataset.
I would think a new one.
