Nelson,
From what I can see in Vantage 3.0, the only feasible way to add a
crystal report to the vantage menu is to compile the report in crystal to an
exe file, and add that file to the favorites bar by right clicking and
choosing add item. Unfortunately, you have to do that for every individual
user, as the favorites bar is changes for every individual user. The end
user would be able to delete the report link if they wished.
I haven't been able to find any way to link the report by itself to
the actual vantage sub menu, without writing a progress program to launch
it.
You can add the report to a VB form, simply by opening forms
designer and choosing the appropriate screen you wish to add the form to,
creating a button, and in the command window for that button typing:
SHELLEXEC V:\vantage\userform\report.exe
(the compiled crystal report can be located in any directory as long as the
corresponding CRF file resides in the same directory, and can be launched
from outside of vantage as well, without crystal reports being present on
the workstation)
Of course, the report would have to have an ODBC connection to the database
in order to be looking at current records.
