And, you will see there is a spot that shows the subreport (properties) that
you point it to the new XML - sorry, didn't think about a sub report
involved.

Don't remove the old dataset. Go to 'Set DataSource Location' and point it
to the new XML file. This will update the schema and add/remove fields as
appropriate without messing with the existing report.

I need to add the checkbox01 from POHeader to the POForm (Purchase Order Report). I can change the Report Data Definition for the POForm. But I can't figure out how to make the field show up in the Crystal report. My first attempt caused me to loose most of the form. Any help would be appreciated.
It should be pretty easy...Copy the Crystal report to keep the system one in place...Make a new report style, pointing to the new RDD and the copied report location. Print preview a PO choosing the new report style - this will give your new XML file, but still have the original Crystal report data...Then open your new copied report in Crystal and link to your XML file - which should now have the checkbox01 field...Verify you see the field in your XML and then under your tables in Crystal field explorer...

I am good upto the point of linking to the new XML file. I use Database - Database Expert - Create new Connections - Ado. Then remove the old ReportDataSet and replace it with the new ReportDataSet which does include Checkbox01. The problem is when I do this I loose among other fields, the subreport links. Is there another way to link the new xml?
