Our shipping lead has asked us to add dock hours to all suppliers system wide for ease of scheduling pick ups and drop offs. Currently we do this for a handful of suppliers by using a spare address field, like so:
But obviously some suppliers will need use of that field so it can’t be implemented on a system-wide basis. We’re considering adding a new field to the supplier data for this, but I’m curious: does anyone already do this, or have another method of doing so besides adding a new field for hours?
I don’t see anything native inside of Epicor for a scheduling window but if you wanted to avoid adding a new UD Field then you could use the Supplier Comments area. At least that way you can bring this field in via BAQ if your shipping team are using any reports or have access to Supplier Tracker.
Also if I’m not mistaken, that address field your using will show up when printing checks so idk if that’s a good place to store that attribute.
Use a UD field in combination with user codes. Add the UD field to the supplier and then create a user code and link that to the UD field. This way you can predefine the dock hours hours for your users to pick from.
