Adding Fiscal periods to an existing Fiscal year

We are changing when our fiscal year ends to line up with our parent company.
Can I just change the number of fiscal periods on the current calendar and add periods or it there something else I need to do?

Thanks,

I’ve never done this, but in testing, it seems that simple. I made a 61-day month in the picture.

Do you do deferred revenue, where there are amortization lines in the future waiting to be recognized? I would expect that to be a speed bump.

Otherwise, you shouldn’t have any GL activity in future months, right?

Nothing waiting to be amortized so it looks like it will work.
We need to add 6 more standard months to ours, 18 months total.

Thanks

We ended up adding 3 months as we bought by another company.

TEST IN TEST 1st though.

Seemed very easy to do in Epicor.

Of all the things it won’t let you know changing Fiscal periods was easy. I can’t detail the steps as a consultant did it but I do remember thinking “You’re done already?!?”

Did a misc invoice and posted to one of the new periods.
No errors and shows up in the trial balance for that month.
Good to go.
