There really are not great ways of editing trackers without taking a serious tax on the processing time. I would find out more about what they want as their output, like if they are looking for what their purchases are by gl control, then working from the smallest set of data up would work better. IE creating a new report dumping POs and then grouping by the GL controls attached to the PO lines, and summarizing dollars, qtys, etc etc. Catch my drift. Trying to work with such a large dataset and working down is asking for trouble. That and editing the GL reports is a pain

Subject: [Vantage] RE: Adding PartTran and Vendor tables to General Ledger Report
All they said was they were having to go around the world to get the information they wanted and compile it into some spreadsheet. They’re going to multiple areas of Epicor get this information and it’s very time consuming. They want it easy and all in this one report. The GL report as it is out of the box contains info they don’t need and they have to search down the PO info they do need and put it all in a spreadsheet. I don’t think the much like being inconvenienced. Is there a way to add the info they want into the chart tracker?

Right but why do they want that? Is there maybe another area they could get the information they want? Especially because GL isn’t just for PO stuff you’re going to be querying PartTran for every record in GL

Hi Joshua,
They want to remove the fields Journal, Seq, LegalNumber and Currency from the GL report and add PONum and PartDesc from PartTran and VendorID from Vendor.

Yikes…. GL is already a beast throwing PartTran on top of that…. I don’t know. What is their end goal?

Subject: [Vantage] Adding PartTran and Vendor tables to General Ledger Report
Hi everyone,
I have a user who’s requested certain fields from the PartTran and Vendor tables be added to General Ledger Report. Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I need to set up the relationships between the tables? I’m running Epicor 905.702a, Crystal Reports and SQL. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
