Adding UD Table As Child - Vista 8.03.409

The problem is the wizard doesn't take into account the different Data Grid events that allow for editing and updating. So unless you hand code all of that stuff it works terribly. I had it out back and fourth with Epicor over the course of a month to get all of the needed changes from Epicor. I don't recall what they all were however, but at any rate the wizard is incomplete to allow use of Data Grids smoothly. Someone more versed in code than myself could have figured it all out in time, but at my current level I struggled with it quite a bit.

I'm thinking I would create a foreign key view to get the data view, bind that to a new datagrid and then I could use most of the code from the E9 wizard.

The wizard in 9 will generate all the CRUD for you. Any one of us could send that to you. The issue comes in if you want to use a Data Grid at all with that child table, then it turns into a whole new ball of wax. Would you look to use a grid in your UI?

It works exactly the same way, iof you can get a hold of the code in 9 it
will work in 8 with slight adjustments.

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has anything to share on how to add a UD table as a child. Want same functionality the wizard in E9 provides but in Vista 8.03.409.

Thanks,

-Ted

Yes, I want to bind a datagrid to the UD view and be able to add/delete/update records with the datagrid.
