Additional blank lines in Operation "Comments" in M ethods Mast

Unfortunately, the printer driver is unrelated to the comments window
displayed on the screen. The table does not show additional returns, yet
comments are displayed and printed with additional spacing. The comments are
spaced in operations 20 and 30. Anybody experiencing these unexplained
changes?

Greg,
Did a printer driver, new printer or printer driver setting recently change.
Look at margin widths to see if one was made larger making the text area
smaller causing extra lines.

Nope - no cut & paste going on and pretty certain no rogue employee causing
the problem. When we look at the data in the Vantage table itself it does
not have extra carriage returns. Initially, I thought it was a printer
driver issue because it was first noticed when printing job travellers and
the lines that print after the new blank lines started with goofy
characters. Then I looked at the comments section in Job Tracker and it
appeared on screen with the extra blank lines.

These comment sections can be a couple paragraphs long. It looks on screen
like everything is double line spaced from what it should be. - Greg

When we imported our data I used a basic copy/paste script. If you
copy/paste from a Microsoft product to Progress it adds the 2nd return. It
took me 4ever to figure that one out. Could they be doing a copy/paste from
another product?

Hello Greg,
We had a similar problem with our sales order comments. I ignored
the
obvious and spent too much time looking elsewhere. It was random and
inconsistent. As it turned out, one of our sales guys was actually entering
blank lines in the comment. Go figure!

I have something pretty odd happening here that I can't figure out (we're on
5.110.114). We use the operation comments section in the methods master for
most of our job instructions like most of you I would guess. Recently,
without apparent pattern or reason, "some" of the comments sections now
have additional blank lines. It looks like each line got an extra carriage
return. It both displays on screen and prints what looks to be double
spaced.

The funny thing is it is not universal. Not all operations are affected and
not all parts. It does not appear to be related to when it was last
updated, copied to another BOM, unapproved and reapproved, solar winds, or
planetary forces. Any ideas?
