Aggregate field in report builder

Test the aggregate...not text it. It's Friday.

I've tended to create a calculated field that I test for blank or null going in and if so set to 01/01/1940 (or just over the DB date century rollover point) and then text the aggregate so if the max was 01/01/1940 I would know all the dates were blank.

I have an aggregate field that finds the max date. I what to do an IIF statement to see if it's blank.

How can I do this? It won't let me use a ? or a '' to identify the field being blank.
