Yes,
Sorry, I don't have a software image to work from right now.
I'm working from memory of the complete system.

Kunal,
You need to use the subtotal capability when you build the expression for
the BAQ.
When you are selecting your tables - note the subtotal checkbox on that
form.
After you have done this, in the display form, you will create a calculated
field.

Hello,

I need to create a dashboard which will show me the total payments made to a
vendor for a certain time period. Unfortunately, I cannot figure out how to
do "totals" in a dashboard (i know about the ability to use the group by and
summation bars in the dashboard interface, but that cannot be transferred to
excel).

Essentially, my users need to be able to copy and paste the data into an
Excel sheet, which is not possible using the existing group by and summation
options in a dashboard.

This is the simple SQL query (sometimes I honestly wish the BAQ interface
would accept SQL) -
SELECT vendornum, SUM(tranamt) AS totalamt
FROM aptran
WHERE (trantype = 'PAY') AND (trandate BETWEEN CONVERT(datetime,
'11/1/08') AND CONVERT(datetime, '12/1/08'))
GROUP BY vendornum

Thanks,
Kunal
