Air Pollution (VOC and HAPS) Tracking in Vantage 8.03

In Epicor 9, you could use the Rohs functionality.

Subject: [Vantage] Air Pollution (VOC and HAPS) Tracking in Vantage 8.03

I have to provide VOC (volatile organic compounds) HAPS (hazardous air
pollutants) data in the form of a 12-month rolling average to the EPA and
the state. Does anyone know of a way to do this in Vantage? Where would I
put the VOC and HAPS data for each product?

Thanks much.

Carey

Good Day Carey:

Sun is on:
M2K, 7.0 SP7, Informix ( not Unix) (Currently using).
Epicor 9, 9.05, SQL (live 7/1/2010)

Some ideas:

Is there a specific amount for each part#?
If yes, then:

1. Simply export usage to Excell, add a column for "amount per Each"
then total.
If there are different compounds, you would need another field for
that, so you could sort on it.
If there are a lot of part#'s involved you could us LOOKUP in Excell
so that you do not have to enter the [Amount per Each] for each line - I
have only used it a few times, but it works ( might be Vlookup).

OR, you could put the [Amount per each] at the end of the
description, Then use Excell command Left([cell],3) where 3 is the
last 3 digits of the field so 010, 150, 005, etc. You will have to
format the column to 'Number".

2. In M2K there are used_Defined_fields. Make a field for "Amount per
Each".
Created a calculated field of [Usage] times [Amount per Each].
If need a "Compound field" sort by it when totaling.

Do you have a field for the usage for the last 12 months? Or if have
for each month, you could add up the first 12. M2K stored by months

You may also have to consider Dependent ( Work order\internal usage)
versus Independent (sold to customer) usage. Hopefully you have no
Dependent usage.

Good Day Carey:

To get usage, you could do it through Sales reports, if all usage is
through sales and NOT on WO's. Simply limit to dates T-364 to T.

This might be more of kind of detail they might want.

Do they want Gross totals, or how much in each shipment?

We are a manufaturer or urethane products, so I end up with the compounds used to manufacture the products, the paint, and various maintenance chemials. Currently, I run an Inventory Usage Report, manually input this data into and Excel spreadsheet that has all of my chemical information, and derive my total VOC and HAPS output.

My initial thought was to add two custom fields (VOC in lbs. and HAPS as a percentage)to the Manifest Info tab in Part Maintenance and then write a custom Crystal report to pull the data.
