Alerts and Process Server

Sue,

Are you running the process server as a service or as a normal application?
If your running it as a normal app, like we are, once you log off the server
it'll close all open apps. This shouldn't happen to services but I'm not
quite sure how to run an application as a service but I believe Epicor say
that you can.

Have a look in your services file for a free port. I think we use 2350,
which seems to work ok.

Hope this helps.

We just setup alerts for testing on our new system. I'm having trouble
finding a free TCP port (9999 didn't work). Meanwhile the Process Server
keeps shutting itself off. What is up with that? Anyone else have
problems with this? As soon as I log off the server, the Process Server
stops - how do you keep it running 24/7?

Susan,

We don't log off the server. We leave it logged in, but locked.

As for the port. We picked 5678 I think. The biggest problem we have
is remembering to select file hide vs. clicking the x to close.

Susan,

If you log off the server, you need to set up the process server as a
service. Support can help you with that. Did you try the 8000 port series
for the process server? I set up my 2 databases to 8000 and 8010. Hope this
helps. Also, I set up the process server in my computer rather than the
server. The server is old and already overworked.
