Annual Returns how to Handle?

Hi All

We are a large manufacturer and we have several distributors which we sell
X amount of product. At the end of the year if someone of that product
hasn't moved they are allowed to return it.So for exmaple we may get a
return of 9000 of all different parts

We could do individual RMA's but someo of these parts we've sold years ago
just now they are returning them and someitmes they'll buy parts from
another distributor and return them to us too


So i guess my question is, how would you guys go about handling this, to
account for "as best as you can" costs, cost of sales etc.

Any ideas?
