ANOTHER OPINION-Vantage emailing to the Web

I just outsourced email to mailstreet.com. They give you an outlook 2003
license per user, 100 mb of storage and 1000 mb of public folder space.
It works nicely with desktops, blackberry's, pda's and phones (have not
done the last 2 yet). No problems with virus attacks so far (knock on
wood), and spam is under control. Outlook 2003 synchronizes
automatically with their exchange server. You can pick your email from
any internet connection. For archiving outside their system, you can
create a pst file to keep in your server critical emails.

The only problem I have so far is that the Vantage server needs to send
email warnings to users, and I heard before that you could install some
application in the Vantage server and it will send to whatever email on
the web the warning. Anyone knows about what applications and settings
to make it work with Vantage 6.1?

Not to mention Sarbanes--Oxley appears to be being applied to privately
held
companies as well now...any legal "stuff" you want to be able to pull up
all
of your "legal documents" which now include e-mails in and out...how
does
that work with web hosted?

So when/if the internet is down they have no e-mail whatsoever?.? With
an
e-mail server if the internet is down you can still e-mail internally.

Security. All their e-mails can be read by the hosting party.

Our Sales department, all on their own, decided that the email system
needed changing. Tuesday they told me that it was being implemented
for all salary tomorrow. I was excluded from this process. At the
moment we're in neutral corners, but the bell rings for the final
round tomorrow. Sales built a web page and the host has web mail so
they thought it was a good idea to change the infrastructure.
