I am interested in hearing about experience with the new 9.05.605 Service Pack released Tuesday. There are hundreds of fixes there and many things that are probably affecting us behind the scenes that we have not hit yet.

If anyone takes the initiative to test this Service Pack, please post your results, as I will be doing as well.

I'm having quirks just getting it installed.

We're testing from 8.03 to 9.04 and then to 9.05.605. Installing the base 9.05 32-bit Progress works fine, but after installing the .605 SP, the Mfgsys.exe and all other executables in the Client folder disappear! I was told it's probably a permissions thing, but I tried it again after I got off the phone w/ support and granting the client folder full permissions for everybody, and it still didn't work.

I'm redownloading the patch now and I'll try the whole process again, so we'll see. Strange because I ran the schema change and conversions and everything else seemed to work without a hitch. I just didn't notice the client issue until the end.

That's not the download problem.

Call support, there is a .REG fix that needs to be run so you can run the
Service Pack and have the Client properly re-loaded during the process.

Same thing happened with 602, 603, 601 etc.

And this is a registry file to run on the server? Is there an SCR or something I can reference so that there's no confusion on their end?

The reg files are located in the epicor905\32\server\log folder

You launch the reg file on your server, and then you would want to rerun
the 605 service pack

Reg file didn't work. Tried it twice.

I'm gonna just extract the releaseclient.zip into the client folder, but I'm mildly concerned that there might be other missing files.

It sounds like an installation issue, but there are work arounds for getting th clientzipinstaller working.
Is anyone live on it and having any unforseen issues with the actual use of the software yet?

Good to hear that others are testing...

We are live on 9.05.605. Massive improvement over 602. Strongly encourage everyone to start testing and getting an upgrade plan going.

In most reports we have seen as much as a 30% performance increase.
