# Any other v5.0 Problems

Is the reported labor collection problem only when using remote sites?

We are anticipating going live with 5.0 at the end of March. Hopefully, the
two bugs which have been brought up, MRP and Data Collection, will be
resolved by then. However, I just wanted to ask for feedback from any
others, that have been using 5.0 and ask if they have seen any other
problems or possible bugs? We are currently on 3.00. We will be updated to
4.0 then 5.0 at the end of March.
I have a couple of questions from our team that has been working on learning
what's new. If anyone has any ideas, please reply on the list, as I would
think others may have some of the same questions? I plan on attending a
class on March 2, but wish to move along in the process. Sorry for the
length, but hoping to raise some discussion on the new release.
1) Report Selection improvement: Select multi-options from list w/o having
to keep opening list. I could not see this working? Has anyone?
2) How are any of you, intending on coming up with Material Burden Rates?
(freight, processing time?)
3) Why when an RMA is received to Inspection Processing, does it allow you
to enter a warehouse and also show this in transaction history, and not show
part in timesphase, as being in inspection processing?
4) How does the Revision Change...update unreleased jobs? We only see the
Revision Change Maint, which shows you the changes, but we do not see where
to apply changes to unreleased jobs?
5) When making a transaction through inspection processing, if the part did
not have a cost, if you look in part tracker, transactions history, the
system is creating an ADJ-Cost automatically? Is this new?
6) How do yau add the new,one time shipping address to packing slips?

Right now we see a possible major bug in the purchasing suggestions.
It appears to be using the selling unit of measure conversion
factor for the PO. This is a huge problem for us right now. We
have to manually edit each PO. I have reported this to tech but
have not received a response yet.

When an RMA is received to the right warehouse and bin AND the
bin is "Nonnettable" the part shows up in report builder reports but
not in Inventory or Time phase.
I can think of several places for material burden here.

In the RMA receipt we did, we moved the parts to a warehouse, but the parts
actually go to Inspection Processing(not a warehouse nor nonnettable
warehouse). But, it allowed us to put in a warehouse???  Looking in part
tracker, we did not see the parts in the warehouse we entered, nor did it
show on the top line of timephase (where currently, 3.0 parts that are in
Inspection Processing, show.)Â But the transaction history shows a RMA-INS
transaction type, that does not effect the running total. The parts are in
Inspection Processing. We need to see where these parts are when we look at
timephase.

Look in Inv Maintenance, Master Files, Warehouse, click your warehouse, then
check the bins-is your bin non-nettable? Non-nettable bins are established
to keep items (like RMA's) OUT OF YOUR INVENTORY, so that someone doesn't
plan to pull those parts and use them, when (for example) they are being
re-worked to be returned to a customer. Also, accounting doesn't generally
want 'em in both places.
On another note, I would think long and hard about going from 3.0 to 4.0 to
5.0 in one weekend...if you have any problems, you will have a hard time
deciding just where things went wrong...this is especially true if you have
a large database. Of course, this is just my opinion, and I agree that the
idea is attractive to get all the hassles over in one big swoop, users only
have to deal with one upgrade in a year and so on.
As someone else says: my .02 for the day.
