Any way to change Company ID?

Jose,

Thanks for the "concise" response :) Although, that is exactly why I thought it might be easy for someone to create a script to change the Company ID...

for each table in Epicor905
{
UPDATE [table] SET Company = 'KC' WHERE Company = 'KCO'
}

Although I would guess that Company ID is also referenced some other places that may not be so easy to find and update. Trust me, I won't be trying it. I agree that it's not real important to change this. But I figured if there was a way, this group would know. We just got our financials set up in our Pilot database, so we are a little beyond the point that we could create a new Company and start over.

Thank you,

Does anyone know if there happens to be a way to change the Company ID for a
company in Epicor 9.05.700A? Is there some sort of script or utility that
could change this? We are part-way into a new implementation. Our Epicor
installer initially told us that the Company ID had to be at least three
characters long. Is that really the case? It is currently set to "KCO",
but we would rather have it set to "KC".

There isn't anything more to add to Jose's response.

Out of curiosity, is there a big demand to change this? In the end, it
doesn't really play any role except for data integrity.
It's not like the company ID displays anywhere and if you really wanted
it on a report, you could always translate to KC in the report.

Greg, where are you on your implementation? Using test or pilot database or are you already into your live database with transactions?
Â
If your current database has no setups to speak of or transactions you can delete the company using the epicor admin console and then reload a new company with the new ID
Â
I agree with Jose and Joe, if you are past that point there is nothing you can or should do. Its fairly meaningless in the scheme of things
