HA!! Minnesooooota
Pick/pack/ship involves a lot of inventory transactions.
I am curious how you go about balancing proper inventory control practices with speed and automation because those two concepts rarely go hand in hand.
No worries, I know that you understand that. That was more for the rest of the Epi Universe out there.
You’re in Fergus falls? My lake place is 20 minutes from there. Small world. lol.
What limitation are you encountering? You can create a single packet slip with multiple lines, each specifying a different ship to destination. For instance, a Sales Order has a part that needs to be delivered to four different locations. Therefore, we need to create four releases to define the four ships to destination. You can use this information in the packet slip lines as a mark for the ship to.
Which is exactly why I had asked Brandon what he was doing to control this.
I wonder how this works with avalara and taxation… does the mark for determine the taxes in the avalara tax engine?
Interesting… I knew that existed, but didn’t think about using it in this scenario, as I’ve never really used it before.
My only question is does Avalara calculate taxes based on that.
I believe it does. The last time I heard it discussed I remember that, but I’m not 100% sure as I haven’t personally used it.
Some testing is probably in order.
I wonder what mass ship would do if you have it all set up on sales order? I would think it would bring in all the lines with the mark for address populated, no?
some testing is indeed in order.
Of course if it’s multiple different parts, on different sales order lines, shipping in one box to the same location this would break down yeah?
I don’t think this is true? It doesn’t make logical sense in epicor to have a pack id with multiple Ship Tos.
Mark For is for keeping track of a packages ultimate destination if it is being forwarded, etc, from the Ship To on the Pack ID.
that’s true. But we are talking about being our own distributor. If a third party can do it, why can’t we?
The Ship To you put on the pack Id is incorrect. Seems like a tough place to start.
Could be. But it might be a better middle ground between excel spread sheets, and a 1001 pack slips that you can’t make fast enough to not eat up all your profit.
Worth exploring anyways.
Driven through Fergus Falls, not a lot is going on in that small place!
Isn’t that just a normal pack slip?
yeah, that it is, that it is… brain is still warming up.
Small world is right The lakes around here are beautiful.
