We went to Epicor about 5 years ago, and haven’t had training since. We don’t know what Epicor can do, and we don’t know what an epicor warehouse should look like. All of our subject matter experts are gone, and we really don’t know best practices when it comes to Epicor. For the most part, documentation is available for the application. But I haven’t found any documentation on how to use the handhelds and how an Epicor warehouse “should” operate. Anyone know a good place for me to start?
Basically, all we use our handhelds for is picking. We don’t ship, receive, do any production, or know what else we can do.
That’s completely dependent on your business model and how extensive you want to use them.
Generally you can use the hand held to pack and pick inventory , move inventory around the warehouse, check your stock, ship orders…The works. How much or how little you want to use completely depends on how your business is run.
You would benefit from Epicor or a consultant to come in and help you do a BPR ( Business Process Review) to help you determine how best to use the product to benefit your company.
If that’s not an option then you could do your own internal BPR and determine the areas of the business which are cumbersome / slow / not productive and then figure out how / if there are options within the software that would benefit you.
