Please keep in mind that all customizations run at the client level. The more you customize the more the client computer can become the point of problem.
BPM’s though running at the server level the data is still retained at the client level until it has been committed. For this your clients are stuck waiting for the ack from the server after it has went through all of its logic. The more BPM’s you have in place the longer all data takes to process.

Mark and Nick,
I a lot of it has to do with configuration, client hardware and your network as well.
There are plenty of places running Epicor and Vantage where the speed isn't slow unless you're comparing it to an older green screen system.

Agreed,
We actually have 2 servers. Our app server is a 4 proc 4 cores each with 32 gb ram running raid 10.
our db server is a 4 proc 4 core each with 64 gb ram and the db running on raid 10 with 15k drives.
its just slow, gonna have to live with it until they come out with some REAL
speed improvments.

with Dual Quad CPU (8 cores), 40GB RAM, SAS 15K RAID1 for
OS & RAID10 for DB and it is still slow for the users.
CPU utilization is very low, RAM utilization is also low,
I/O shows that it is responding well...but Vantage is
still slow...it's just that Vantage is archaic.
