AP Invoice: enabling a disabled field (group of fields)

Thought I would try this question again but from another angle.

Is there any enhanced or improved functionality in AP Invoice Entry/Debit Memo(or misc. line) for versions .4xx or 9.x as compared to version 8.03.305L?

Has anyone ever looked into enabling a field or groups of fields which a particular Vantage form has "disabled" (probably because of some business logic)?

Trying to avoid setting up UD fields (with customization) for which a place already exists on the form (except they are disabled) such as PO #, PO Line, Supplier Part Number etc.

AP Invoice/lines/detail tab

The "PO Information" group of fields on the Line Detail tab only works (is enabled) when doing a "match to receiving". Now lets say we want to do a "misc. Line" on the invoice OR a Debit Memo (which automatically creates "misc. lines"), and we want to enter PO information.

Has anyone been able to (or can think of) a way to enable those fields located in the "PO Information" gouping when doing a Debit Memo?
