I was wondering if there is a way to lock past years in Epicor once we have completed the year-end audits?

The main reason I ask is that I typed in 2022 for a payment instead of 2023 and only caught it at month’s end when all my other months were now out of balance. I did find my error and fix it.

Yes, look at the Earliest Apply Date command in Financial Management | General Ledger | General Operations.

As well as what Mark said you can close the fiscal periods too.

Look in the Menu for Close Fiscal Period/Year.

Earliest Apply Date is a good tool to use monthly to have granular control over month end - prevent people doing any new inventory transactions for the period month, but still have it open for AP until you’re ready, then finally bring forward the date for GL.
