AR Deposit Invoice will never be paid

Thanks Karen, There was a problem with the original Sales Order,
preventing us from applying the credit memo. All sorted now!

We have an issue here I would be glad of some help on.
We sold a system to a customer, who we required a deposit from. For some
reason our accounts raised a deposit invoice and posted it to the
customer. The sale fell through, and now we have a posted invoice, which
will never be paid.
What is the best way to cancel out this invoice, and remove it from our
aged receivables report? Thank you.
