I have been tasked with setting up a tooling/consumables tracking system.
Two basic functions need to be accomplished, a way for mechanics to
checkout tooling with their Epicor Badges(employee number barcoded) and a
way to track employee consumable usage again with their Epicor badges.

Is anyone doing something like this? Is there any ideas on how Epicor can
be used? If we could also make the system create a consumable suggestion
for purchasing when something gets low on stock?

Any ideas would be appreciated, I've been thinking about just setting up an
access database but a template would be nice or if someone already has this
working with Epicor I would be very appreciative.

That was more intended for capitol equipment that you would typically depreciate.. As far as I know, you can do some gage tracking and calibration within some modules, but not check in and check out. Systems like that exist out there, look into AutoCrib and CribMaster for functionality like that.
