Auto-Increment in Crystal

Thanks for the replies. We ended up using a date + time function in
Crystal.

Greetings,

I am modifying the crystal form Shiplabl.rpt. Currently, we enter the
required data into a 3rd party software - I want to use "shipping labels"
and have crystal pull the required fields.

One of our customers requires a unique serial number on each label. The
only requirement is that it is unique, right now shipping is using a 5 digit
number and increasing it by one (# + 1) each time they print.

There must be a way to auto-increment this field in Crystal each time we
print...

Any Crystal Guru's willing to help?

TIA!

Kelly,
How are they keeping track of what the number is now so they can add
1 to it next time? Is it in a Vantage field?

Joey
Kelly,

If your serial numbers can be random I would use a time function in Crystal.
If they need to be sequential.you might want to look at creating a parameter
field using discrete values and using the import pick list feature. This
would still require keeping track of the next number to use.

Good luck.
