Does anyone know if an auto-increment function exists in Vantage?

I think in order to use this field (BOLHead.BOLNum) I would have to
create a BOL using Vantage before running my report. I am not doing
this - I am pulling all of my data out of ShipDtl, ShipHead, ShipTo
and ShipVia. Using Vantage to create a BOL would be repeditive for us.

Any other suggestions? Maybe I should use Vantage to create the BOL,
but I found it easier to use the above mentioned files...

I wonder if you could use a combination of the current Date and Time to generate a number? It might need to be a long number to eliminate duplicates if the report is run more than once in an hour.

For instance, if I ran it now, the BOL number would be 1217021631 (12/17/02 at 4:31 p.m.).

That was my original thought....

Unfortunately we ship multiple packing slips on a BOL. I think that
would become a problem....
