Automated Fulfilment in Classic mode on prem possible?

Hi team,
Long time no post
So finally we are moving to Kinetic, but staying on prem for quite some time as the user and modification transition will take another few “cycles”.

Question: Has anyone successfully used the new Automated Fulfilment process whilst using Classic Order Entry?

We do have an existing CSG mod for auto reservation I’d like to replace with this new shiny toy. Idea is I set it up in Kinetic, but then trigger “Send to Queue” from our classic screen. Would think it’s a no brainer but then…

Hopfully it’s a dah question.
Thanks

I’d be more inclined to uplift your classic screen to kinetic and have the user use Sales Order that way… Admittedly it seems just to be a button the kinetic screen so… You should be able to simulate that in classic… And I’m sure there are some more qualified Automated Fulfillment users out there that may have a different opinion… Ultimately at some point you are going to have to bite the bullet…

Hi Andreas,

Having done the upgrade to 2025.1 a month ago and still sticking with some Crystal reports, I relate!

From what I have seen with 2025.1 on premise, and smart client remaining installed on my pc (rest of company browser only), the classic functionality is generally there and accessible when needed. I think the biggest drawback here for you could be if you need to do significant edits to make any classic / customization continue functioning in the version you are upgrading to. It might just work.

Can you test using the upgraded smart client / classic interface on your PC and try to do the automated fulfillment as desired?

With the change to the browser UI being such a big leap and the desire to try and get there, I think using classic as a crutch a bit with plan to phase out is reasonable. But I guess that obvious because that’s what we’ve done.

Thanks Nancy,
As said I was reaching pout to see if anyone has actually done it, I will try it either way.
Wih some tracing it should be no problem getting teh auto fulfil thingy running.

There is no way to uplift the business to Kimnetic at this stage, we’re a distibutor (and don’t ask why we are on ERP please) an live in order entry, it’s probably the most customised screen you’ve ever seen. so no way to do a quick cut, but I had to keep to momentum in the business to do the technical uplift first, otherwise my window of opportunty would close.
So side by side, slow and steady is the plan.
And honestly, IMO that current solution was actually a smart move from Epicor.
The quirkiest bit was during my evaluation is that classic order entry is actually faster than Kinetic, believe it or not.
Cheers

Thanks Simon, but not an option yet.
If you’d see our current order entry, you’d know why.
Dealing with very heavy customisation layer plus a very slow adapting business, and any hiccup in the order entry process is huge for us.
And after all my question was if anyone has done it
Cheers

Yes I totally understand one change and the whole thing goes to pot… Don’t ask how I know… And to answer your question… No I have not… although it would be kind of kind of useful.
