BAM Alert Blank Title 82891

Aaron,

Thanks for the help. Your suggestion work with one change, I had to use OldJobOper.Number01 instead of Old.JobOper.Number01.

Thanks again.

Thanks,

Rich,
Use the Old.Table.Field format to compare (in your case
Old.JobOper.Number01>0).
You will have to execute this through a .p file, but there is a ton of
history in this very list about .p files and BAMs (not an insignificant
portion directly from me).
I don't work much with .p files anymore, but I still am writing progress
code in BPMs in 8.x, so I can offer more assistance if needed.

I am trying to setup a BAM to send an email when a change occurs to the JobOper.Number01 field, but I only want to send the email when the original value was something other than 0.

Is this even possible?

Thanks,

Right, so you would have to check Number02 first when Number01 changes and send the email if required. Then you would set Number02 equal to Number01. So if you look at Number01 and Number02 they should always be the same, its only that brief moment when Number 01 changes and your first BAM is triggered that they are different. The trigger would always be Number01.

Steve, Rich,
I don't believe it's a trivial matter to change the value of a field in
6.1 using a BAM. In 8.x it's easy with a BPM.
I think you will have to use the Old.Table.Field my other posts tells about.

I didn't know anything about the old.table.field format. I would be interested in finding out more about it and if it is still a valid option in 8.03.4xx.
