Does changing a BAQ used by a deployed dashboard - without re-deploying - cause the dashboard to operate differently?

For example, if a dashboard used a BAQ that had a hard coded table criteria (say Orderhed.OrdeDate \>= 1/1/2017), and that dashboard was deployed.

Would changes to the BAQ ( like changing that criteria to 1/1/2016), be reflected when the deployed dashboard is run?

Or does the dashboard need to be re-deployed?

As long as the change is to the criteria or something not visible no need to re-deploy.
If you add or remove fields… well that’s a different story.
