BAQ Export Process

Howdy folks!

Anyone else having an issue with Kinetic where the BAQ Export Process doesn’t prompt the user when Parameters are defined for a given BAQ? It used to but something changed (bug?)…

In order to work-around this, we’ve had to have users revert to the classic client just to use this tool. HOWEVER, the classic client has a bug in File Download where none of the processed files are deliverted – all the directories are blank. So they have to run the classic app to execute the BAQ (to get parameter prompts) and then back to the web-browser Kinetic to access File Download for the generated date. :man_shrugging:

Also, does the web-interface for Kinetic have a Process Monitor to see what’s running? When I try to access it via the menu, a popup tells me to use it from the Notification Panel … in Windows? Why does it say that?

TBH, I’m not having a lot of confidence in the forced retirement coming soon – still seems like a lot of open issues in Kinetic still.

I’ll be at Insights and these are on my list – but still a few months away – so hopefully these get fixed (in addition to Application Studio Layer issues – but that’s another rant).

Thoughts?

You might try to use Solution Workbench to export/import - it should make sure you’re grabbing all the configurations you need. Is there a problem with importing a BAQ with parameters?

As for System Monitor, it is in the Notifications panel of Kinetic - the little bell on the bottom-left of the screen:

When you click System Monitor, it expands the panel out to give you the System Monitor…
There’s a hidden toggle for getting just your tasks vs all tasks:

I don’t recall BAQ Export ever asking for more than where to save and name the file…

Same. We use the BAQ Export a lot and never remember it asking for BAQ params. Just tested on 24.2 and it doesn’t.

Yeah, it’s been broken for awhile. Here’s a screenshot of it asking for the params (its previous behavior). This happens after tabbing out of the Query ID field.

Must have been, wow. Add it to the list of broken things… :dumpster_fire:

I don’t even want to try to ask about this Problem# I found because creating a simple “can I get an update” support ticket is a RPITA!

It will be fixed in 2026.1

:crossed_fingers:

What about PRB0310562? That bug also has the “Use Classic” as the workaround that’ll be no longer viable come 2026.1
