BAQ Filter "Missing"

Hello.

Apologies for making a very recent similar post. It got hit with a Solution before I realized I had another related issue on hand.

I am trying to add OrderHed_PONum to the filter of this BAQ Report. It does not show up. The drop down has a few others but not this one. Why? Is there a way I can get it to show up? I want them to be able to search for this item.

Thank you.

are you able to share a screenshot?

There is no built-in search feature for the PONum field in OrderNum. You could pass it as an option - which would also filter based on the PONum entered into that field… but you wouldn’t get the search box. You’ll only see items in the drop down that have the built-in search… things like PartNum, Customer, JobNum, the different categories like Part Class, Product Group, etc. I believe it’s very much like the list you can select when setting up an EpiCombo.

Why do the users need to be able to search it? What’s the intended use for this BAQ Report?

Thank you for the information. I was indeed able to create it via Options.

I wanted to give them the ability to search for records if they only had the customer’s PO number. There is other information I am providing, too, but that is one part.

Thank you!

I’m assuming they just want the same type of search that shows up in order entry, which allows you to search by Customer PO number by changing that drop down.

I never knew that was there. I was thinking that usually, if I’m searching for something by a Customer PO Number, I already know my PO Number. So I can just enter it. If I’m searching for it, I’m only searching for it to find my Order Number, you know? So search based on the order, rather than the PO. That was my logic. But at the request of the natives here, I was trying to understand the bigger picture rather than just the zoomed in problem.

yeah, the reason I knew it was there, is my users asked for the same thing, but I don’t know how to recreate that special search they have going on there. It’s common if you are working with a customer to be referring to their PO number, so it makes sense to be able to search by it.

If you do your own BAQ or quick search, you can just add it as another field, but it’s a little more cluttered than the stock way they have it.
