BAQ Report Definition Question

I've got a user wanting to be able to filter by PartTran.TranType - select
any number of transaction types (1-N)

However, there isn't a lookup table for TranType and you can't create a
filter on TranType as it is in the BAQ Report Definition.

I thought I might be able to use one of the UD tables but when I linked it
to the PartTran table by Company-> Company and TranType -> Key1 there still
wasn't a filter available for the Key1 field in the UD table.

Aside from creating a dynamic parameter in Crystal are there any ideas out
there to solve this one?

Has anyone taken the eLearning self paced course on Epicor's site called:

1.
Embedded Customization Self-Paced Package
Course Code: ED834803406SP_NS

and

2.
Advanced Customization Self-Paced Package
Course Code: ED837803406SP_NS

If you have, can you offer any comments?
I have a strong programming background (C++), though a little weak in .NET
I am hoping to get a solid grasp on the basics of the forms and how they work.
And after this, be able to do things like "if you're logged in to Plant XYZ, the plant on the sales order release defaults to Plant XYZ"
or something on Job Receipt where you are stopped from receiving more off a job than the job has made so far (silly business rules!)

Thanks
I took the Embedded Customization Self-paced. I don't remember that it was really much more informative than the Epicor Tools User Guide. It was quite basic. It showed how to add controls to the forms and how to use the Wizards and how to deploy customizations. If you are a programmer, you probably won't get much, if anything, out of it. It's directed toward Newbies.

I did not take the Advanced Self-paced. It was going to cost $300 and I wasn't sure it would help me with my project. I called Epicor to try to find out exactly what the content of the Advanced course was. In the end, it seemed that what I needed covered was not going to be covered, so I didn't buy it.

If your budget will allow it, by all means, take both courses. Once you buy them, they can be used over and over again. (But if they are included 'free' in your annual subscription, they are no longer available once your subscription expires.)

If your budget doesn't allow it, there are a few other places to get the information:
1. The Epicor Tools User Guide -- about $70 from your Epicor CAM.
2. The on-line Vantage help -- there are some Customization Tutorials here which cover just the basics.
3. On-demand Webcast on Epicor website, "Vantage Customization for Optimization". This webcast is 50 percent marketing and 50 percent technical information. It is free and last 1 hour & 9 minutes.
