BAQ Report Desginer / Sub Reports

Yes, in Crystal Reports.

You can create a subreport and use the existing result set in the
current XML of the container report's BAQ (to look at that data another
way, for example).

If you need the subreport to query a whole different set of tables, etc,
the answer is "yes, kind of". You could create a second BAQ and dump it
at predefined times to XML somewhere on the network via the BAQ Export
Process and then your subreport(s) could query that dumped result set.
The negatives of doing it this way is that the dumped XML won't be exact
"live" data; it's only as current as the last dump (1 hour, 30 minutes,
last night, etc).

Alternatively (not the best option), your subreport(s) could query via
ODBC either to Progress or SQL; depending on your database type. This
requires you to have ODBC drivers installed on all PC's that will be
running this report.
