Thanks for the tip. I have wanted to use this filtering on a calc field on
custom cycle count queries before.
I just recreated the Sales Order Backlog report and had to manage the dates
back in Crystal.
Maybe sometime I will reconfigure that for date selection on the front end.

I found out that you can enter a calculated field as an option field in a
BAQ Report. Just create a new option field in the BAQ Report Designer and
type the name of the calculated field from your BAQ. It doesn't show up in
the drop down list of Option Fields, but it will let you type anything you
want into it anyway. Fill out the rest of the information including data
type. The data type has to be in all lower case (date, character, integer,
decimal, logical).
I discovered this when I need to have have a "from date" and "to date" show
up on the report form but I didn't want it to actually filter anything from
the BAQ. I wanted to use these dates in formulas inside of crystal. So I
created a caluclated dummy date field in my BAQ and populated it with
1/1/1900. I then created my two option fields in the BAQ Report Designer
and set the compare opteration to <=. As long as the user enters two dates
greater the 1/1/1900, then the BAQ data is unaffected and the two dates are
passed to my crystal report for use in calculations.
