My BAQ Report Options does not seem to be set up properly. Could someone tell me the general locations for the Sample directory and the local reports directory. Should they be directed to mfgsys or mfgsysdata?
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application
Data\Epicor\Vantage\8.03.407B\COMPANY\shared\Reports\SampleData

I did not set these up, but they were already setup and I do find my
sample data and reports here...

FYI,

Karen

These can be any path you want as long as it makes sense from your Vantage client's perspective. You need to tell Vantage where you want to keep this stuff. I made a directory C:\BAQReports and set them both to that. This is the directory where "Generate Sample Data" saves its stuff (I don't recommend you use this method though), and where "Design Report, "Download Report" and "Deploy Report" copy to/from as appropriate.

When you say "my BAQ Report Options does not seem to be set up properly."what do you mean? What exactly are you looking for?

As Brian says the paths can be set up at Actions BAQ Report Options....on your local c:\ and as long as Crystal Developer is on that machine...You only need to tell Vantage where you want to keep this stuff if indeed you are going to use those options: Actions Generate Sample Data: puts a sample .xml and I do really mean sample generally only two lines of the BAQ....and Actions Download Report: takes the local .rpt that gets saved there using the BAQReport.rpt template renamed as your report and puts it into //servername/epicor/mfgsys803/server/reports/custom reports. I too don't recommend using these settings either. You can generate a full dataset by either Print Previewing or Generate Only your resulting BAQ into the defined //servername/epicor/mfgsysdata/reports/(yourloginname). I also just go right into Crystal, and start a new report or use an already created defined template and connect the datasource: Database Set Datasource Location to the .xml that is in the //servername/epicor/mfgsysdata/reports/(yourloginname).

You can indeed then find your "options" in those Option1, Option2, Option3 etc. fields in the BAQParameter table. And also, as far as Options and Sorts working for you; definitely do not group and/or sort by fields within Crystal. Make sure you use those BAQParameter.SortBy and Option fields.

We just upgraded to v 9.05 and the BAQ Report Options Screen - Server
Reports Directory defaults to
\\MNEPICDOC\Epicor\Epicor905\Server\Reports\Custom
<file:///\\MNEPICDOC\Epicor\Epicor905\Server\Reports\Custom> and the value
is grayed out and cannot be changed.

The value is the same value that is an example in the Epicor 2.5 Tools
Manual - We are able to use Crystal for changing reports but cannot generate
any BAQ Reports.

Any ideas on how to modify this value?

Thank you for your suggestion.

I made the change on the System Agent's screen but the change is not
reflected on the BAQ Report Options Screen.

Do I need to stop and re-start the SA and/or the database?

Rolling your appservers should do the trick. I think you only need to do the
TaskAgent and the ProcessServer.
