BAQ report produces a zero byte XML file (Epicor 9.05.700C SQL)

Hi everyone,

I thought I'd let you all know that this is now working.

The bottom line is that the code page suggested in Epicor's guide on MS SQL for enabling support of the Euro currency symbol is totally wrong. Something completely different needs to be place dinto the Progress '.pf' files.

Thanks.

Hi,

We went live with Epicor 9.05.700C (64 bit MS SQL) yesterday after many months of preperation, but we've hit a problem that's never happened to us before.

BAQ based reports that were working perfectly in Vantage 8, and in our Epicor 9 test systems, now fail. The reason they fail is that the XML they produce is zero bytes in size, the XML file is totaly empty, it doesn't even have an XML tags in it.

So far we're totaly stumped as to why this is happening, and Epicor also appear to eb as well.

The BAQ works perfectly and when tested shows the required data, however, if you then create a BAQ Report and generate sample data (or generate data only via a menu item for it) the XML file that's generated for the Crytal Report is zero bytes in size.

Thanks.
When you test the form in the BAQ Report Designer, is it the correct form? I'm on 702a an having major issues with BAQ Reports.

Hi Anthony,

I understand where you're coming from, however, the Crystal Report itself is not the problem I'm having it's that the generated XML (either from BAQ Report Designer or from a menu item) where the file is completely empty (not even and XML tags) :(

Thanks.

My issues are not with crystal either. My report isn't generating an XML file either. When I generate from the BAQ Report Designer, it's not generating any information. The BAQ shows all information. I use results I know exist by referencing the BAQ and still get nothing. Support says the only true issue is that the BAQ Report Designer is showing the wrong UI...

Did you test with the "migrated BAQs" and had no output in the xml ? Try to create a new BAQ and see if this does the same.

If the new BAQ do not work then it's an installation issue, if the migrated ones do not work just try to import/create them again.

Hi Anthony,

That sounds crazy, just like what's happening to me.

Do you get no XML file at all or a file that is created with the correct naming conventions but that is zero bytes in size ?.

Just to confirm if I test the form from the BAQ Report Designer I have no issue.

Thanks.

Hi Mihai,

The BAQ's themselves work fine, when tested they show all of the required data, the problem is when using them in the BAQ Report Designer when generating the XML the files are always zero bytes in size.

This happens to migrated/upgrades BAQ Reports and new ones.

Thanks.
