Baq

Try some parentheses:

(Part.AvgMaterialCost + Part.AvgLaborCost + Part.AvgBurdenCost +
Part.AvgSubContCost + Part.AvgMtlBurCost )* PartBin.OnhandQty

If the wrong number try adding parenthesis

 Use parantheses as shown:
Â
( Part.AvgMaterialCos t + Part.AvgLaborCost + Part.AvgBurdenCost +
Part.AvgSubContCost + Part.AvgMtlBurCost ) Â * PartBin.OnhandQty

Hi Group,
Â
Looking for some advice on BAQ.
Can you and if so how do you get a summary by part number of all open quantities on order.
Can a BAQ summarize the data in PORel by part number similar to a group by in Access.

Sure just add the PORel table and check the Summary CheckBox thne use one
of the Aggregate functions in a BAQ Calc Field.

My first try:

Since the OrderRel table doesn't have the PART field you have to link
OrderREL to OrderDtl to get it.

Since the OrderDtl Table could have multiple lines of the same part or
other orders with line items of the same part you can only summary for
each OrderDtl record for that part.

I linked: Part to OrderDtl to OrderREL then Aggregate TOTAL .

This is as far as my logic takes me, If you can get it another way I
would like to here.

My Second Try:

If you don't have the "Keep Line Quantity Constant" field checked in
Company Config - Orders.

The line quantity will reflect to total releases which gives you release
but I don't know how to subtract off shipments.

Note the OrderDtl.LockQty field reflects the setting from the company
Config - Orders - Keep Line Quantity Constant.

Not sure if this was any help but misery loves company.

I am trying to create an updatable BAQ to update the PartWhse.Number01
field. However when I look in the Update Processing tab and in the
Column Mapping section, I do not see an expression for the ttPartWhse
for the Plant field. I could not find the Plant field under the
PartWhse table so does that mean I need to bring in the PlantWhse table
into the phrase builder query too?

Can too many BAQs drag down the processing speed of our EPICOR Live environment?  If so, at what point might this begin to become noticeable?  Thanks
you can have as many BAQ's as you want. They only have an effect when they are running ( at the time they are running) just having them on DB is "FREE"

Certainly, as Jose said, only actually running the BAQ is really going to have an impact.  We have seen, however, a BAQ (actually a builtin one, zCustomerShipments for the Sales Order Shipments Status Dashboard that ships with Epicor) that runs and runs forever, even after the client user just gives up and crashes MfgSys.  This results in "bad things" happening a day or so later, when database locks start happening left and right, and snowball out of control.

I'm having a similar performance issue when Retrieving Mfg Receipts in Job Tracker 9.05.702a pr.

Anyone happen to know what z BAQ is used for this?

How do you trim characters from the right side of a part number in a BAQ Epicor 9

I'm assuming you mean in Progress, maybe:

RIGHT-TRIM function
Removes trailing white space, or other specified characters, from a CHARACTER or LONGCHAR expression.
Syntax

 RIGHT-TRIM ( expression [ , trim-chars ] )

expression
An expression (a constant, field name, variable name, or expression) whose value is a CHARACTER or LONGCHAR. If expression is a case-sensitive variable, the AVM performs a case-sensitive trim. If expression is a LONGCHAR, the result is in the same code page.
trim-chars
A character expression that specifies the characters to trim from expression. If you do not specify trim-chars, the RIGHT-TRIM function removes spaces, tabs, line feeds, and carriage returns.

The Right-Trim function is throwing an Error when (partnum,2)
It may not be the right thing to use then, the second parameter in the function is a string  ('what to remove'), not an integer.

Maybe you can use the Length function, then Substring to get back the original string ,  only 2 chars 'shorter'. :

Give me a new string, 2 chars shorter than the old one, starting at the beginning-

NewString = SUBSTRING(OldString,1,LENGTH(OldString) - 2)

I am trying to create e custom report using vantage 8.03.

I have created the BAQ, with analyze and test I see that it displays what I want, but when I move to BAQ Report Designer, I am creating a new report definition, I enter all the data(use the BAQ that I have just created) and then I go to Actions->Test Report Form->Print Preview and all I get is a blank sheet, no information at all.

Am I missing something?  I have used the book(epicor tools user guide) as well, and I could not find anything related to my problem.

Thanks!

I'm using E10, which may be somewhat different, because we are using SSRS instead of Crystal Reports.

When I define a BAQ report, it sets up the SSRS (.rdl) report file with the query and fields lists, and a header. I have to design the report from there. I'm guessing it's something like that in Crystal Reports.

For what it's worth.

Joe

Yes, that just creates the blank report and generates the XML.
The report template is blank & only includes tables "Company" and "BAQReportParameter"

In Crystal designer you first need to edit the reports datasource
-  select the "BAQReportResult" table (and add links)
Once this if done, you then can add the fields you want to the report body
