We also had a customer that required it, but in the long run we sent them a

Filling out a questionnaire and we are being requested to supply labels and
such with a barcode that is EAN 128 standard. Anyone familiar with this
standard? I'm jumping on the web to take a look but I figured I'd ask here
first.

This has been happening to me about once a month. A part will be received
and sent to inspection. It shows correctly in Transaction History but never
shows up in inspection or in the time phase. We were having this problem in
Vantage 4 and support didn't really want to work on it, as in we fixed that
long ago. Well, I just converted to 6.0 and lost a part on day one. Can ya
give a brother a helping hand.

Hi Cliff,

We are on 5.2 and have experienced the same thing. We would receive a part
to inspection and it would never appear in the queue nor could it be deleted
as a receipt. Epicor did not offer up a reason for why it was happening but
did provide a fix utility that would correct the transaction. I recommend
giving support a call for the fix for your version.

Cliff,

One thing to try in INSPECTION PROCESSING is press the binoculars button
next to INSPECTOR. Then check the ALL box to select all inspectors. Then see
if your transaction appears.

It seams like when you first load Inspection processing transactions are
only displayed with Inspector's equal to ? Or null. When you select all
inspectors you get all transactions null and ones with inspectors assigned.
I have not reported this but it gives the appearance that transactions have
disappeared. Hope this helps.

Don't know a lot about it except that it is really complicated and can't be programmed from within RB. There are complicated internal calculations like check digits that have to occur depending on the content to be coded. I had to beg and plead with the one customer requiring it to let us off the hook. So far everyone else is Code 39. I recall checking into labeling software that would do it but most of what I found was really expensive (for us) and would have been a data transfer headache (export from Vantage). Just like EDI we now will not present it as a service offering unless the customer is large enough in volume to justify the costs.
