I'm trying to program a tab after each barcode in E9 so the field moves to the next field to scan.
I'm not sure how to add the keystroke sequence on the end of the existing barcode so it shows as one scan.

We tried to add the tab to the scanners but I couldn't get the starting field to line up when we launch the activity using a barcode, so no we're trying to do it on the traveler.

Any help with this is greatly appreciated...

I see the code for tab but when I try to add that code to the end of the barcode in the crystal report, Crystal complains that the code is invalid. So I'm asking how that would be written in Crystal...

You need to ensure your scanner is configured for the extended ASCII
character set. If you have a tethered USB Symbol LS2208 scanner, also run
though the setup on the files section. If you have another scanner, consult
the manual and ensure it's set. Do some searching on this list history and
you'll see this topic covered a few times for additional examples.

Depending on the model of barcode reader you are using, you may be able to program the reader itself to insert the tab after reading a barcode. We use Symbol barcode readers and the manual that comes with them describes how to program them to insert a tab or character return after reading a barcode. It's much simpler to do than programming the barcode to do it.

You have to create a formula for your information and append the tab into the formula, then put the formula on the report and use the barcode font.

I was testing it on our travelers and did this:

"*"+totext({JobAsmbl.JobNum})+"$I"+trim(totext({JobAsmbl.AssemblySeq},0))+"$I"+trim(totext({JobOper.OprSeq},0))+"$I"+""+"$I"+""+"$I"+""+"$I"+""+"$I"+""+"$M"+"*"

It will enter the numbers and tab through the MES interface entering it where it needs to go.

"$I" being the tab.

If you are using 3 fo 9 barcodes in Crystal you need to create a formula like this ...

"*"&ToText({JobHead.JobNum})&"$I"&"*"

Thanks,
