Best practice for Pricing management for planning and research

we use Epicor for our pricing which will feed into SFDC.
PLM has a spreadsheet that they keep that manages pricing prior to it moving to Epicor. They use this to put in planning/holding prices while they research what they may want to do or get approval etc… basically while they are doing what if scenarios.

This worked well when there were a few PLm but as our product line sand PLM members grow this is becoming unmanageable and there is lots of rework being done whenever we load pricing into Epicor. One of our PLM guys was playing around and created a pretty cool little tool using Quickbase that manages this much better with tracking and approval process etc BUT before we go and pay for a new tool was looking around to see if something like this already exists maybe even within Epicor (full disclosure I am not an Epicor expert by any means, I sue Epicor just enough to integrate into SFDC)

curious what others are doing for this type of situation
thanks

Some customers use Projects to record these costs, this way the EPicor app can be used for time entry and one for expense entry, and the standard approval process can be used in Epicor

are you saying there is a way to have a planning/future price for every SKU/price book combination that’s in Epicor and after its approved it can get pushed to the pricebooks? is this out of the box or is this some custom development?

sorry, i missread your request, DMT would be your best bet
