Thanks Todd for clarifying this, I just spent the last 20 minutes thinking I
lost my mind, I knew I had changed the machine number on a work center in
the past, and was having trouble duplicating it again since Mark's first
posting requesting info on this. Vantage logic is hard to retrace at times.
By the way May's issue of PC Magazine is all about wireless stuff, wireless
networks, etc... If your still researching for home stuff.

Jerry / Mark,
I've always handled this by going to the "Machine" master table. Delete the
associated work center and if you want, change the name to ZZ-Sold ( Pat's
idea which I've always liked ).
When you have more than one machine the number of machines is grayed out on
the work center table and if you goto the "Machine" tab from the "Work
Center" master table the associated work center is also grayed out. However
you can change or delete the associated work center if you go at it from the
"Machine" table.
Not that this makes any sense ... Classic Vantage style logic.
Actually, if anyone at EPICOR is paying attention the easy fix to make this
a bit more logical and intuitive would be to allow users to update the
associated work center within machine maintenance whether you arrive there
directly from the "Machine" table for from within the "Work Center" master
table.
Good luck

Mark, I have tried for a couple of years to find a way to resolve this with
no success. Epicor has not been able to help either. I have raised the
question at meetings and through support. We have resorted to reducing the
available hours on the disposed machines to 0. This has caused us problems
in some workcenters and we have had to leave 1 hour in (and reduce the hours
on actual machines to compensate) or scheduling will not work. The number
of machines is wrong (because we are not to change this number) but at least
our available hours are correct for scheduling. Not a good solution. If
you find a better one, PLEASE let me know.

Hello Group,
Here's todays problem.
We have been using many workcenters with mulitiple machines defined.
We
have recently sold 4 machines from one workcenter. The system will not
allow me to delete these 4. I get "Labor statistics have been posted to
this machine. DELETION NOT ALLOWED". I need to change the number of
machines at that workcenter from 5 to 1. Please tell me there is a way to
remove these machines without having to change every labor posting.
TIA
Mark Dupuis
